Description

This 16 Hour Initial Training Class provides a general overview of the processes and procedures for cleaning and decontaminating residential structures contaminated with the residues associated with methamphetamine and/or fentanyl usage.  This class IS NOT intended for personnel that will be involved in the testing or decontamination of clandestine drug labs/meth production facilities.

Attendees will receive classroom and practical instruction on the steps necessary to safely clean meth and fentanyl residue.  Safe work practices, record keeping, personal protective equipment, and small scale abatement procedures are examined in detail. This class includes hands-on exercises.

This course is also intended for workers who regularly work on sites that have been monitored and fully characterized, where hazard exposures are under permissible exposure limits and published exposure limits, respirators are not necessary and there is no health hazard or the possibility of an emergency.

The 40-hour Clandestine Laboratory Clean-up course or a 40-Hour HAZWOPER course along with site-specific training, should be received by any individuals who will potentially be exposed to job site hazards or will actively participate in hazardous materials clean-up operations.
