Description
This course provides training for individuals who will serve as Designated Person for their school and for managers of facilities where asbestos is present .
Training will include 2-Hour asbestos awareness training as well as an additional 2 hours designed to cover all topics listed by the EPA for those individuals that will assume the duties of the Designated Person for the Local Education Agency.
The course includes basic level instruction the following topics:

- Types and uses of asbestos
- Health effects
- Medical Survelliance & PPE
- State and Federal regulations
- Air monitoring and sampling
- Asbestos identification and bulk sampling
- Asbestos Management Practices
- Abatement Options
- Asbestos response action requirements

- Responsibilities of the designated person
This class does not include hands-on training or certify attendee to perform or supervise asbestos abatement activities.
